Holland America Line and A+E’s The History Channel are teaming up to elevate cruises with custom itineraries and shore excursions that will transport guests to ancient ruins and legendary landmarks to place them directly in a destination’s history. Departures for this new collaboration begin April 2025.
Several cruises will be curated in partnership with The History Channel. Cruise itineraries include a 14-day Arctic Journey & Northern Lights, a seven-day Mediterranean Marvels of Pompeii, and a seven-day Norwegian Fjords with Hardangerfjord. Additional themed departures will include the eastern Mediterranean with a focus on ancient empires; northern Europe and its Viking heritage; Arctic encounters and the region’s history of polar exploration; and more.
Shore excursions are focused on the history and culture of each destination. Guests can enjoy dozens of experiences ranging from gold panning to exploring the Giza pyramids. Guests can expect a deep dive into the destination’s historical significance by visiting these sites.
